September 2021 Class and Workshop

For our September 2021 Class and Workshop, we focused again on coloring, both watercoloring and coloring designer series paper. We also made a pinwheel tower card and a spanner card. My class participants love the many techniques and card layouts and designs that I teach. To be fair, most of the inspiration for the cards I design are ideas I borrow from other talented paper crafters.

Here are examples of the coloring that we did. First, with light water coloring on water color paper. The image was stamped with brown Stazon ink, so there would be no bleeding when applying the water with water-based dye inks. We worked with ink right out of the lids of the ink pads, and watercolor brushes. A strip of patterned paper and ribbon were added as embellishments.

The second coloring we did was on Stampin’Up!’s True Love and Beautifully Penned designer series papers, using markers and blends. See samples below. You can find several tutorials for making spanner cards on youtube.

The last card of our September 2021 Class and Workshop was a Pinwheel Tower card. For this card we used the Paper Blooms DSP from the earlier Sale-a-bration this year, and several retired floral punches. Of note, the tower portion of the card used a piece of the same patterned paper, instead of card stock, to keep the entire card flatter for mailing.
