What a fun look this is – ink brayering over Versamark, that is an image that is stamped with Versamark. After trying different lengths of time, waiting to brayer the ink on, it works best to brayer straight away after stamping.
Here is the finished card once we put all of the pieces together. I will walk you through the steps to complete it. This is a very monotone card. I am anxious now to try this technique with multiple colored inks.
The sentiment is stamped on an oval of vellum. It’s important to do that first so that the ink has time to dry.
Next, the floral images from the Hand-penned Petals stamp set are inked with Versamark, and stamped on glossy photo paper. Island Indigo ink was immediately brayered over the stamped glossy paper.
Two strips of Island Indigo card stock are attached to anchor the ribbon behind the brayered panel that is lifted up with dimensionals.
While it took me quite a while to work out the mechanics of adding this ribbon, those who took this class seemed to pick it up easily enough.
I encourage you to try this technique of ink brayering over versamark. It has much of the same magic for those of you who experience heat embossing for the first time. The Hand-penned Petals stamp set is now retiring but but you can find many other beautiful floral stamps and sets at my online store. Or visit my Events calendar and try a class for yourself or with a friend.
