It’s Forever Greenery Suite

It’s Forever Greenery Suite

Combo of Forever Greenery cardsHere’s an sneak peak at some cards made with the Forever Greenery Suite from Stampin’Up!’s 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Several years ago I put a suggestion into the Sandbox at Stampin’Up! suggesting that they create a stamp set with different types of foliage. Eh voila, it appeared in this year’s catalog. In addition to the Forever Fern stamp and die bundle of ferns and different greenery, the suite includes Designer Series Paper, embossing folders, ribbon and other embellishments.

To be completely honest, I didn’t order the DSP  because I found that the colors in some of the papers clashed too much for my taste. As a retired florist, color was a very important design principle in creating floral arrangements. This included the hue of the foliage, to make sure it complimented and didn’t clash with the colors of the flowers. That being said, I can say that it’s very easy to create your own patterned paper with the various size stamps in this set along with the number of pretty inks, to create one that you will find pleasing. One such card is shown here.

The colors used in these samples are Blushing Bride, Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce, and Rich Razzleberry. Each of the cards also used several pieces from the Gold Specialty Laser-cut paper. The various elements and panels in this paper come punch-out ready; no need to use your trimmer to cut these up like previously sold laser cut papers.

I was able to pull apart all the die cuts and panels in minutes and store them in a stamp case for easy retrieval when ready to use them.

I could also have used some of the tissue paper that comes packaged with the laser-cut papers. And I may actually use this in an upcoming class or workshop, as I think it’s the perfect texture to use with this stamp set.

One of the first things I did after receiving this bundle was to stamp and die cut all of the greenery images with different colors of ink and card stock. This not only helped to get my mojo going, but also made it very easy to put different images and colors together to design these cards.

Along with all of my floral stamp sets, I know this one is a keeper. If you’re anything like me, you are going to love just how versatile this bundle is.

February 2020 cards

As February 2020 ends today, I thought it was time to finally get pictures of the February 2020 cards from this month’s workshop and class. So I am putting them into a blog here to share with you.

The cards we made at the Titusville Senior Center were a Valentine card (since it was still 4 days out) and a Daisy Gingham Birthday card. The Daisy card uses some retired Gingham Gala paper and Lemon Lime cardstock, while the Valentine card uses paper from the new From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. Adding this paper to the flap of the envelope really dresses up the package. Using the Heart Punch Pack, that has both a plain and scallop punch, made this an easy and fun card to make.

At the workshop, we made cards that use products from both the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog and the 2020 Mini Catalog. These products can be found through my online store at the link below.

The Washi tape that is part of this Suite of products is actual washi tape petals.  These are put together to create these beautiful pressed petal-like flowers. The vibrancy of this Pressed Petals designer series paper is unmatched. Many of the designer papers appear on a linen-like background making them look so realistic.

This card was fun to make from the Special Someone stamp set, especially with the sentiments. On the outside, “this balloon is special”, and on the inside, “it’s filled with heal-ium”. I used a branch die from the Colorful Seasons dies to catch the heart balloon. Those attending used the Stamparatus to successfully stamp the two step critters. So cute!

I hope you enjoyed seeing our February 2020 workshop cards and that you consider joining us in a future workshop. The products used here can be found at my online store using this link.

Mosaic Mood

Mosaic Mood

I was asked to create a board of card samples using the Memorable Mosaic stamp set and coordinating Specialty Designer Series Paper for my upline’s Creative Retreat in June. Now that I’ve finally gotten around to photographing them, here is the board and some of the samples. Some were actually cased from samples I found on Pinterest and others are my designs.

First let me say that seeing the paper in the catalog does not do it justice. The paper is beautiful with glossy, embossing on one side of all the papers. All of the samples you see on this post were made using one half of the pack of paper. I admit that I was meticulous in my cutting it up, always choosing to get the most out of the specific designs.

So, that includes a scrapbook page, 10 cards, two 2″ samples of the papers, 12 note cards and a note card box. The cutie in the scrapbook page is my first grandson who turned 14 today. Where did the time go?

Finally, these are the note card samples and box, which includes my first ever shaker card. I never made one because I wasn’t sure I even liked them, but after making one, I found them really fun to make.
