Ink Dragging Over Embossing

Ink dragging in general can be quite a nice technique, but ink dragging over embossing is even more impressive as a technique. At last month’s workshop we made two cards that involved this technique. The first card uses a scrap of kraft card stock that is scored every 1/8 inch. So, without using an embossing folder, the card stock is, in fact, embossed. Then Crumb Cake ink is dragged across the embossed (scored) ridges to highlight them.

On the second card, we embossed a piece of white card stock with the Time worn text embossing folder. Here, again, we use ink dragging over the embossing with Soft Seafoam ink. That piece, measuring 3 1/2 inches, is then cut down to add a 2″ piece to the flap of the envelope, and the other piece is attached to the card front underneath the circle sentiment.

You might notice that we use the circle on this card that we punched from the first card.

At the time of this post, three of the items shown in this post can be found at my online store: the Quiet Meadow dies used on the first card, the Forever Fern stamp set and Time worn Text embossing folder used in the second card.
