Here’s a technique you might not have tried – inking a background using Saran wrap. Any kind of plastic wrap will work. In fact, I cut up pieces of the plastic wrapping that the patterned paper is wrapped in. Simply scrunch up the plastic wrap and pounce on your ink pad, then onto your card stock. Change colors for a multi-color look, like our samples here.
To make this card, the top white card stock panel was masked with paper at an angle. And the bottom of the panel was stamped with different inks and scrunched up plastic wrap. The sentiment is stamped with one of the inks. A sliver of metallic adhesive is added along the diagonal to hide the transition from the masked stamping. And, finally, the panel is embossed with the painted texture embossing folder.
Sometimes you just need an easy background to make a card unique. So, I hope you will try this inking with saran wrap technique. Everyone in the class found it very therapeutic. What could be better!
If you are in the Titusville, Florida area, I would be happy to have you join one of my classes.
