It still seemed right to be making Christmas cards in the middle of December. So, at our class last week, one of the cards we made was a Card & Gift Card holder all in one. I saw this idea in a live youtube video by Lynn Dunn and honestly, it seemed like the simplest way to alter a standard A2 card to include a holder for a gift card. She offered multiple formats, using only DSP and a stamp set. So this card is CASED from her template but I used a different DSP [Tidings of Christmas] and stamp sets.

For this example, the standard A2 card base is scored 1 1/2″ in from the front edge of the card and folded back to create a pocket. You can see the inside here. We use double-sided tape to secure the sides and a circle punch to cut a notch in it.

Such a quick and easy way to add a pocket for a gift card. I hope you’ll give it a try, and watch Lynn Dunn’s youtube video (linked above) where she shows you different orientations of the same template.
