One of the cards we made in our November Senior Center class was this tree luminary tent card. Some call them easel cards. The idea is that you score your card base into three sections. The popped-up element (in this example, the Merry Christmas label) is used to hold the tent or easel up. Then to make it a luminary card, you need to create a cut-out in the base and use vellum or acetate that you can see light through. In this sample, we used the tree punch to create the cut-out. Once the card is propped open, you place a tealight in the area behind the cut-out to create the luminary.

This is where you would place the luminary once the card is opened.

This is what the card looks like from the side when displayed as a luminary tent card.
Luminary tent cards are quick and fun to make. You can, of course, make them quite elaborate. To see another example of a Christmas luminary tent card, click here.
