Book-bind Z-fold Card

Book-bind Z-fold card might be a long name for this technique. But, that’s because it combines two techniques into one card. So, let me show it to you and walk you through it.

I used several vintage stamps to create the background pattern on the front of the card.

The card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″, and scored at 5 1/2″, 4 1/4″ and 2 1/8″ on the 11″ side. First, you create your basic book-binding fold by gluing the front and back together to the 4 1/4″ fold. Stamp the background on another piece of the same color card stock, measuring 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ . Add this to the front outside fold, flush with the outside edge. Then, add the floral image and sentiment strip.

Finish this card by layering different strips of patterned paper from the Abigail Rose designer series paper to the different blank areas of the card base. To cover all those spots, you will need three pieces that are cut to 1 x 4 inches and three that are cut to 1 7/8 x 4 inches. Cut the blank inside piece to 4 x 4 inches. And, adhere the patterned paper to the outside edge of that piece.

I probably could have added a picture of the card when closed, but you get the idea.
