Making cards with inlays is an easy project, and making this card with a butterfly inlay is a perfect example. It works best when you have a detailed die and an outline die combo, as with this butterfly set.
A piece of gold dotted paper is blended with different inks and glued behind the front panel opening. Once that is in place, simply glue the body of the butterfly back into the opening, creating a butterfly inlay. A piece of gold washi tape hides the transition from the embossed part of the panel. Add the embossed panel onto a piece of black card stock and then to a gold card front.
Stampin’Up! has had many butterfly stamps and dies. For other ideas using some of them, check out this link. If you would like to see butterfly stamps and dies currently available, go to my online store.
